Vides a fair start to the Wild Highland Guardian series Since the day she showed up in Kintail As A Nameless Child as a nameless child no memory of her family Errol s father had taken pity on her Aileana has served the MacRae family since she was young girl orphaned and with no place to go Ten years on and when one of the Laird s captains declares his intentions she flees into the Scottish mountains desperate to scape his brutal ways unaware that Laird s son Errol is searching for her And it uickly becomes vident that something is brewing between them if someone wished to Challenge Her Honor He D Be Than her honor he d be than to defend herThis couple have a gentle yet passionate chemistry that builds as the story progresses although I thought Aileana could have done with having a year or two added to her age 17 Whilst I didn t form a huge connection to the characters and it s one of those books that won t necessarily remain memorable it was an njoyable Blacklands enough read which introduces us to several characters and with the feud between clans playing out amongst the romance Violetta Rand has set the scene for in this series Copy received courtesy of Loveswept via NetGalley for an honest and unbiased opinion I received anARC from NetGalley and the publisher in Evolutionary Patterns exchange for an honest review 35 Stars Her Highland Rogue by Violetta Rand is book one in the Wild Highland Guardian series This is story is about Aileana and Errol MacRae Aileana was found when she was about 10 years old in the forest starved cold and alone She was taken in by the McRae and stayed there until one day one of the men tried to assault her Aileana took off into the woods again Now Error is told to go and look for her which Error is not all thatxcited to do Error knows that his days of roaming are over since his father doesn t seem to be in good health Now he finds himself looking for Aileana when he would rather be njoying a women Although Errol and Aileana have lived in the same Highland Tribe they never really interacted nough to know one another I defaulted to 35 stars because I thought Errol was not a manly Highlander that I likehe was somewhat young in thoughtsactions But overall Forging Gay Identities enjoyed the bookPlease follow reviews at the below site. Ely hate it I was just a bit underwhelmed It s not bad but Forbidden History expecting something like McCarty s books Rand didn t live up to myxpectations See McCarty s books shine with three main aspects first the character building Second the clever way she immersed her fiction into historical Fiche Blian ag Fás events Third and in my opinion most importantly her writing style Her description of Scotland make meach and Esteem Enlivened by Desire every time feel like I am there again Oh did I mention I lived in the Highlands for a while As I said I am a difficult customer Sadly Rand didn txcel in Flights of Fancy, Leaps of Faith either of those aspects I found Rand s writing style at times a bit awkward there were no descriptions of the surroundings that are worth mentioning nor is there any historical aspect to this and I really wasn t a huge fan of the character building though it s the best of the threeThe plot is actually my favorite part of thisven if it is kinda predictable It had a nice flow and I liked that there wasn t a complete happy clappy nd The romance was uhm a bit sudden A bit odd First the hero thinks she is annoying then he loved her all their lives Which one was it nowI didn t feel any chemistry between them The smut was ok again I didn t swoon or anything The first half of the novel I found myself irritated with the characters they were both kinda naive and childish it took me a while to get into the book because of that I was ven contemplating if I should DNF after the first 10% Thankfully I did follow my 20% rule Because a uarter in I found it not half as
annoying i actually
I actually njoyed the second half I guess one can credit it to the character half I guess one can credit it to the character of the two MCs They kinda did not only grow on me they actually became rather interesting and fun So all in all I think this is an okay Highlander Romance which is that I can say for many others But it didn t meet my admittedly xtremely high The Heritage of Arabo-Islamic Learning expectationsHowever if you looking for a light Highland Romance give it a goWould I read the next book in the series Probably simply because the second half of the book was actually not half bad 100% not for me The style was painful for me This isverything I don t like in historical romance No rating because I DNFed very arly on Her Highland Rogue pro. So he isn’t pleased when his father instead sends him to retrieve a beautiful flame haired lass who has fled into the mountains Orphaned as a young girl Aileana vividly remembers how the MacRaes rescued her and welcomed her into their clan For ten years she has served them loyally until the night she’s nearly despoile. .

I njoyed Violetta Rand s Her Highland Rogue very much this is my first book by this author but it won t be the last Aileana is an orphan and probably an illegitimate one She was found as a young child taken in by the MacRae s and served in the kitchens One odd plot device is she is a serving maid but the laird hero s father One odd plot device is that she is a serving maid but the laird hero s father her like a daughter Makes me think she would have been put in a better station than kitchen helper Aileana is very sweet but confused She runs away from the MacRae s partly because a warrior is making unwanted advances toward her and partly because she doesn t really feel like she belongs thereErrol is sent by his father the laird to find Aileana and bring her back home He is annoyed with his father for sending him to find a serving wench who got upset because a warrior pinched her backside He finds her and realizes that he has always liked her and was fascinated by her he knows he will need to protect her and marriage will probably be the only way He annoys me by continuing to complain to himself that there are still other beautiful women to bed and he isn t ready to marry and he wouldn t have chosen Aileana under normal circumstancesSince this is a novella the Errol and Aileana fall in love uickly I just didn t uite believe Errol s devotion since he was so annoyed with her and annoyed that he won t be able to bed other women His turn around was a little too uick for me to believe The story is a good one that kept my interest and the love scenes are passionate There were only a couple of misunderstandings too many misunderstandings get on my nerves talk to Under One Sky each other people I didnjoy the book and I look forward to reading from Violetta RandI received a complimentary copy from NetGalley in xchange for an honest review I read this because I was promised a book similar to Monica Monica McCartyMcCarty s Highland GUARD SERIESIT S NO SECRET THAT I HAVE RATHER seriesIt s no secret that I have rather views on Highland romances Most of the time authors get it terribly wrong in my opinion McCarty however gets it really right So I was a tad bit apprehensive when I started Her Highland Rogue Thinking I could really love this or uttterly hate it Well the good news I didn t complet. Errol MacRae’s days of gallivanting across the Highlands are nearing an nd His father’s health has taken a turn for the worse and rumors are swirling that the crown intends to transfer ancient lands into the hands of the MacKenzies the clan the MacRaes are sworn to defend Errol xpects to lead his men into battle soon. .
