Anne Osterlund ✓ 4 Free readStill recuperating from the shock of her ttempted ssassination nd her father s refusal to believe in her stepsister s role in it crown princess Aurelia now faces exile Guided by Robert her childhood friend Aurelia embarks upon her dream expedition to traverse the kingdom of Tyralt Her journey makes her come face to face with the plight of the people making her uestion the laws A Bollywood Affair and justice of the kingdom controlled by her father As she braves unruly crowdsnd the harsh terrains the threat of ssassins still looms near Strongly shaken by what has happened in the last few weeks she starts to uestion her feelings for Robert who has lways been true friend to her who has protected nd comforted her whenever she needed him What Aurelia really fears than the The Scent of Rosa's Oil assassins is falling in love with Robertnd fraid of her heart being broken in the processI loved Exile I have not read much of romance nd frankly I don t think it my cup of tea So Exile came Nobodys Angel (Willow Park, as pleasant surprise even if it was the politics nd the people of Tyralt that really got me interestedI was pulled into Aurelia s world filled with mystery intrigue nd the thrill of dventure by the spellbinding narrative I love the fact that the uthor tells the story from the perspectives of both Aurelia nd Robert so that readers don t have to guess t what the other character is feeling Seeing the same situation from both their perspectives makes the reader feel closer to the characters Defending Hearts andlso better cuainted with the situation Everytime Robert hid his feelings from Aurelia or misinterpreted her feelings towards him I found myself screaming in my head Tell her tell her she feels the same for you Alas the uthor seems to take her own sweet time to get the matters resolved between them The uthor is successful in connecting the reader to her characters I felt each emotion Robert nd Aurelia feel their fears their guilt nd their love Other than the romance nd mystery surrounding the novel I lso loved the sub plots in the book revolving round the people of Tyralt It is only Feel the Heat (Phoenix Agency, after travelling outside the capital city that Aurelia is confronted with the darker side of her father s kingdom This holds true even in real life Our leaders may see to the betterment of the peopleround them but forget the people who re too poor or powerless to speak out for their rights In many cases development takes place with the sole help of the common people but the leaders take way the glory This too is depicted in the book I loved how Aurelia got down from her horse to talk to the common people signifying the need for the leaders to get down to the commoners to know their problems rather than remain unreachable nd distantFor me the characters make up the story because if the characters themselves Sudden Fury (The Last Gunfighter, are dull then the story itself loses its lure no matter how well it is written or how good the plot is In Exile both the charactersre interesting Spiky and believable We see both of them carrying the guilt of killing someone even though they had done it to protect themselves or others In most books if character kills someone it is held s heroic ct nd there is no mention of their guilt The feeling of regret Dungeon of Death and guilt felt by the protagonists makes them realisticnd relatable because in real life it is much harder to get over the remorse of killing someone no matter how justified the reason is Both Robert nd Aurelia re strong characters While Robert is putting everything he ever held precious t risk to protect Aurelia unuestioningly Aurelia risks going AGAINST THE THRONE TO HELP THE the throne to help the in n ppealing style Exile will hold your ttention right till the very end The cliff hanger ending left me eager A Deceptive Homecoming (Hattie Davish Mystery, and impatient to read its next instalment Buts that is not going to come out till t least next year I might s well satisfy myself by re reading the first partOverallAn intriguing nd mesmerising storyRecommendedYes to ll young dults who enjoy reading romance nd to those who re looking for something that s entertaining nd fast paced This story picks up right where Aurelia left off nd you won t really understand this story without having read the first one Robert nd Aurelia have discovered that the person behind the The Hired Man assassinationttempts is Aurelia s half sister Melony Aurelia has just left the capital to tour the country nd she hopes to get to know her people s well s remove herself from ny lingering danger Not long into their journey they discover that the danger has not passed Almost A Gentleman and Aurelia is still being hunted She has to rely entirely on Robert to keep her safend that only intensifies her feeling for himreturnreturnI enjoyed Aurelia fairly well but this story dragged for me I think it s because Aurelia nd Robert spend much of the time nalyzing the situation nd their feelings I felt like we just went round nd round in circles for most of the story It s only the final uarter of the book that there is much progress on the ctual plot It really seemed like she was in denial bout the danger she was in And so much of the story felt like she was just trying to void making decision Here by the Bloods about her lifend ruling By the end of the story I was vaguely irritated t her I would like to know what eventually happens so if there ends up being nother seuel I will probably t least skim though it but I m not sure that I want to invest much time than that I was immediately hooked It is full of dramatic dventure that kept my on my toes Though its companion to Aurelia which I read when it came out few years go you do not need to have read it to fully enjoy Exile Aurelia

Wait for the next book Fantastic job Anne Aurelia is crown princess of Tyralt Or was before she was exiledby choice In the first novel Aurelia her younger sister tried to have her ssassinated Revelations from Revelation (Mass Market) and the reigning King their father turned blind eye Instead he tried to marry her off to the king of Jane and the Stillroom Maid (Jane Austen Mysteries, a neighboring country who happened to be several decades older than Aureliand incredibly creepy Add Crude World: The Violent Twilight of Oil all that to untrustworthy ueen not Aurelia s mother but the King s former mistress who replaced her nd who may in fact have murdered her previous husband the cousin of n old friend who s loyalties didn t lie where she thought they did nd the fact that her sister is ll to ready to try to kill her Alien: Sea of Sorrows againll Journey Of Fate added up to Aurelia s self imposed Exile Exile the seuel to Aurelia starts few weeks Judas of Nazareth: How the Greatest Teacher of First-Century Israel Was Replaced by a Literary Creation after Aurelia s expedition to explore the countryfter leaving the capital began With her is the man who saved her life Robert who may just be the only person she was truly trust He s Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear. Take the Leap. Live On Purpose. a childhood friend of hers confidant nd love interest Together they travel cross Tyralt in this novel Holding Up the Universe and meet up with host of complicated situations in just s many interesting settingsPlot Unlike the plot of the first novel Exile has many different segmented plots that revolve round the places Robert Satellite and Aureliare Blank Darkness at the time these plotsre going on The ll incumpassing plot is far hidden but nonetheless is there It just has to do with Robert nd Aurelia s emotions Makers and states of mindnd how they change throughout the book I loved this emotional plot The Heart Has Its Reasons and Ilso loved Americana: A 400-Year History of American Capitalism all the little literal ones From thergument in the begging to the fire to the community in the woods to the discovery of the mother who left Aurelia behind years go to the frontier to meeting nd gaining pproval from Robert s family nd Kneller's Happy Campers all the other stepslong the way I won t even mention Haunted Houses For the Millions any of thems to not spoil too much in case you re reading this review even if you haven t read the book despite the spoiler warning And the climax Well we knew from Aurelia that Anne Osterlund is brilliant nd writing climaxCharacters Aurelia is Reclaiming Love: Radical Relationships in a Complex World as strong willed smartnd impulsive Playing with Fire: How the Bible Ignites Change in Your Soul as evernd it s serving her well when it comes to learning The People's Songs: The Story of Modern Britain in 50 Records as muchs she can in s little time possible When the uthor refered to Aurelia in the first novel s Cinderella backwards in the fact that she was princess who shouldn t have been The Dawn of Christmas a princess I foundn interesting if odd description Then when I read the book it bsolutely rang true But it rang truer still in Exile when we find that Aurelia is comfortable with herself out traveling the frontier than she ever was t Bark anwkward dinner party with Eden's Gate a figurative chainround her Her Bear Twins ankle She slso selfless than I ever realizedAurelia s emotions were very real in this book in every situation Meeting the mother who left her behind was empty when Aurelia had so wished it to be life changing Her disapointment in her mother s weakness turned into my disapointment just from reading her thoughts Her devestation Bumps, Bruises and Bouncing Back: A Young Woman's Adventures into Womanhood at her father s deathlso seemed real nd I felt for her Although I wasn t there when my father died either t least I knew we were on the best of terms How My Lady Viper (Tales From the Tudor Court, awful would it be for your father to die when you had fledfter his betrayal Just becuase he did nothing when Melony tried to kill Aurelia didn t mean he wasn t her father nd Aurelia s emotions reflected that Even Aurelia s ttempts for Robert s parents pproval felt real nd seemed like her reality was seeping into mineRobert is nother character I love He s s strong willed nd smart s Aurelia but much uieter bout it He s dmirable Dunkirk: Fight to the Last Man and undoubtably the good guy Have I mentioned how much I m sucker for The Light in Our Houses a good guy It s the honest heroes thatlways piue my interest While the first book is pretty evenly split when it comes to who s head the reader is in this one is not We re in Robert s head maybe 25 30% of the time nd lthough I liked having insight into Aurelia I missed having ccess to Robert s thoughts However whenever I was in his mind it was fantastic His guilt his fear his of Aurelia nd everything else were so realThere were lot of minor characters too How to Get People to Do Stuff: The Psychology of Persuasion and plenty of them to both lovend hate Robert s parents top the list of those I loved long with Drew Daria nd Thomas nd the people in the desert I m lso very intrigued by the new Heir of Vashone nd what his presence could mean for Robert nd Aurelia if Highland Hucow: Milking Marie and hopefully when she gets back the throne Melony topped the list of characters I hatednd I wanted to strangle her While her betrayal was Call the Fire Brigade: Fighting London's Fires a surprise in Aurelia it wasn t here Frankly I m still waiting for karma to comend beat her over the back of the head If that doesn t happen in future book I m going to be very very ngry I lso hated the King despite his ultimate fate because he didn t do Edward Keating anything to stop her before she went too far And of course I hated Elise because I think she s secretly been coaxing Melonylong I don t think Melony is bright enough to have done Berlin på 8 kapitel all that by herself But I seeing the characters I hated in this book becauselthough they were there they never showed up Just sent messangers nd things and it was the palace intrigue where no it was the palace intrigue where no could be trusted even though they claimed to be your friends that I missedAnyway I loved the characters nd the ones I didn t love I loved to hate Romance More than ever Aurelia was subtly romantic but Exile took the concept full swing Robert Shelley And Nonviolence and Aureliare by themselves for most of the book nd s you can imagine this leads to several very very romantic situations You ll just have to read it to find outWriting I m Cross (Jack Taylor, a huge fan of Anne Osterlund I think she s brilliant Aurelia is one of my favorite books ofll time nd Exile is lso very good The Lady and the Generals: Aung San Suu Kyi and Burma's struggle for freedom although doesn t top the first one but I don t thinknything could ve done that Then there s Academy 7 which I Stripped to the Bone also loved with passion And have you read Anne Osterlund s blog Because it s brilliant tooCover Love it And the key Oh is that Trials: On Death Row in Pakistan awesome Especially because it doesn t come into play until the end of the novelOverall Great book If you read Aureliand liked it then you should definitely read it While I don t think it is uite s good s the first book it just has Signs From The Afterlife: How the Other Side can comfort and inspire you a very different tone it isbsolutely fantastic Definitely worth the read If you haven t read Aurelia yet then you should read that one first At least you ll have the dvantage of not having to wait for this seuel I hope there is t least one Aurelia book too tie up ll the loose ends nd put Aurelia back on the throne but I don t know for sure if there will be one Even if there isn t this book ended well. S But even s unknown ssailants track Aurelia nd expedition guide Robert she knows her greatest risk is falling in love.
